Further Information

Sprouted mung beans are a good source of protein, fibre, and antioxidants, which can help to support a healthy diet.

Additionally, sprouting mung beans reduces the levels of phytic acid, an antinutrient that can inhibit the absorption of minerals like zinc, magnesium, and calcium. Sprouting also increases the availability of free amino acids and reduces the calorie content of the beans.

How To Use

Mung bean sprouts can be eaten raw or cooked. They can be added to salads, sandwiches, stir-fries, and soups for a crunchy texture and nutty flavor. Mung bean sprouts can also be lightly sautéed in oil and served as a side dish.

  1. Soak 100g of sprouting mung beans for 8-12 hours.
  2. Drain and rinse the beans, then place them in a sprouting jar or tray.
  3. Rinse the beans twice a day for 3-5 days, until sprouts have formed.
  4. Once the sprouts have reached your desired length, remove them from the jar and place them in a well-ventilated area to dry.
  5. Store the sprouted mung beans in a container in the fridge.
