  • Raw Magic in Goa

    Raw Magic Advanced Courses

Raw Magic in Goa 2013 was a great success. How could it not be? A paradise location, amazing food, gorgeous people, and an overflowing of information and inspiration from Kate.

These courses work on so many levels. On the most basic level, you are getting a raw chef training that you can use in the kitchen at home to prepare the most fabulous food for yourself and your loved ones. Or you could use that training to help you set up as a raw caterer, making food on a commercial scale. You are also getting the full download as to why raw foods works, how to make the diet sustainable, and how to deal with the common issues that arise when transitioning your diet. Again, you can choose to just apply this information personally, to quantum leap your own raw development, or you may choose to use it to start coaching others in the raw lifestyle. On top of this, there is the spiritual layer to what Kate does, and this is where the true magic lies. Changing your diet is about so much more than having more energy and feeling happier in your body. It opens you up to a whole new level of vibrancy in yourself and in your life, a way of being which is helping you access your true potential and really shine your light in the world. On the course, not only does Kate explain all this, but you get a chance to experience it and truly be it. Surrounded by so many like-minded people, absorbing high vibrational information, eating the best food on the planet, all in a supportive, beautiful environment, allows you to access the best of who you are and bring that to the fore.

  • Gilles Peterson - "Health is Wealth"

Former Radio One DJ (now on BBC 6 Music), label boss Gilles Peterson went on my friend Marsha's show this week on NTS radio. Gilles started talking about health and Marsha asked him if he was into raw foods. This is what he had to say (click the link below)!

  • Review of Kate Magic at the Love Lounge in Bath

This is Aradhana's review of our Bath event on 26th June. You can check out Aradhana's raw classes and workshops at her site Beautiful Heart Raw Kitchen.

What a great night in The Love Lounge on Tuesday night with Kate Magic!! Thank you for being part of it.

This was my view from the back of the room and it was fabulous to see a full house drinking in all the abundant information, and to see Kate shine in the spotlight she deserves. Kate loved speaking to a room of raw foodies with some experience: "It was wonderful not 2 need 2 do a beginners talk!"

Here's what some of you said about the evening:

"Loved it.... thank you much for the balanced, grounded, non-fanatical approach to eating raw food... The part i appreciated the very most was where Kate said that we each have to listen to our own bodies, and our own inner voice first and foremost to determine what is right for ourselves....and, that it is best to go slowly and gradually in the beginning and not go 100% raw overnight....sound advice... At last, a raw foodie 'guru' I can go along with! xoxox Big Blessings... xoxox Will be signing up to Kate's Bubble shortly ;)"  Sarah

"What a presence, a very radiant illumined human being, a testament to how we could all be more fully intergrated with the planet by eating all the amazing things it has to offer before to many interferences. Thanks for the grounding attitude, honesty and love, and all the useful information, now on reboot! My kids were on smoothies with apple pear raspberries, bee pollen and flax oil this morning and they loved it.... mmm now what's for lunch?" Tanya

"Really enjoyed your presentation Kate and found it fascinating, thank you :oD" James

I wish you a magical weekend ahead and look forward to seeing you again soon.

    with love

  • Review of Kate Magic's Food Prep Class

I receive so much lovely feedback from events, it's one of the many things that makes doing this job so worthwhile. Here's a particularly lovely one that I wanted to share with you from Chloe Popplestone of Surrey.

I truly believe that attending a food prep class is one of the very best things you can do to fast track you along the raw path. The information I can share with you in a day can make a quantum difference to your understanding and appreciation of the raw diet. I'll be doing less of these next year as I transition into doing more of the five day courses, as well as travelling further afield, so if I'm in your area, please don't miss the opportunity to come and get the Raw Magic download. If you'd like to host a food prep class in you area, and have a minimum of 8 friends who would like to attend, please email melissa@rawliving.co.uk to set one up.

Here's what Chloe had to say.

I went to your Raw Magic in Guildford course with my Mum, and her man, David.  I've been meaning to email you ever since.  I just wanted to let you know how amazing and pivotal that day was for me.

You really are an inspiration.  You just sat in your chair and *gave* to us all for six hours.  You gave of yourself, you gave a wealth of information, and insight, and tools, and experience, and practical tips, and inspiration.  And you seem to exuded an inner peace and kindness and quiet generosity and alkalinity.

Afterwards, I rushed home to get to my one year old son and husband, and didn't really start to process the day until the Monday, when I noticed changes in myself and in my thinking.

Some of the changes are more simple.  For example, your tip about salt-sour-sweet-spice has literally revolutionised my kitchen!  I used to try and follow recipes but didn't have all the ingredients and didn't know what to substitute and ended up wasting food, but now I know how to rustle up something from what I have available and it still taste amazing, not one-dimensional.  I am starting to be able to make things that my not-raw husband actually likes - miraculous!

And my Greenstar is having a holiday in the attic because right now with a curious toddler, smoothies and juices in the Vitamix are all I can manage and it might not be purist, but that's OKAY because it's working for me :-)

I loved hearing you talking about your boys, in particular your eldest boy who is going through a teenage rebellion and I was thinking (and my Mum agrees!)  that you are a Wise Woman, in the true sense of the words, and that is a rare thing today.

Other changes are deeper .  Lots of things you said really struck a chord with me and I am finding that I am finally making changes that in the past have felt like a fight, but now are coming naturally with ease and grace.

I don't know what you did, or how you did it, but I seem to have taken away much more than just the words I heard, if that makes sense.  And I wanted to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart.  You're an amazing woman.

  • Where to Start?

We are increasingly getting questions from people who are excited about Raw Living, but overwhelmed at the amount of information to take in. So I thought I'd break it all down here in a quick and easy guide to how to get going with raw. You should also start by downloading our free ebook, We are Raw Living.

    1. Aim low. Be realistic with yourself. 50% raw is great to start, 70% is wonderful, and you will feel the benefits. Don't go for 100% unless you're really sure you're ready!
    2. Include one adaptogen a day eg maca, aloe vera, reishi, ashwaganda. You can find more information on all of these on the main website.
    3. Include one green powder a day eg spirulina, barleygrass, chlorella, Klamath Lake algae. We use the Greener Grass and Out of the Woods.
    4. Make sure you're consuming enough liquids - try and juice daily, as well as drinking herbal teas such as Eterniteea, and making nut and seed milks. Aim for a minimum of three litres a day of teas, juices, milks and waters combined.
    5. Come to one of my classes. I travel all over so I should be coming your way sooner or later and if I'm not invite me! Set up an event in your area by emailing melissa@rawliving.co.uk. What I can teach you in a day's food prep class can save you months or even years of not getting it quite right.
    6. Listen to your body. That's all this is about, no more, no less. There is no ultimate right or wrong when it comes to your diet, it's just a process of tuning in, and connecting with your own divine empowered magical self.

That's it. Really, that's it! Focus on these few simple things, and watch your miraculous life start to unfold. Combining a high raw diet with superfoods, regular exercise, and a conscious commitment to positivity, is the surest way I know to bring truth, freedom and harmony into your life. Transform your diet and you transform everything: your body, your mind, your personal relations, as well as the wider social structures - and it's all for the better.

  • Raw Magic Accreditation Courses

I taught the first 25 hour course in Goa in January, and it went very well, better than I had hoped. Initially, I was worried about teaching for that long (would I run out of things to say?!), but in actuality I found it easier to teach over a longer period than I do a shorter period. It meant we could fully get to grips with the material, without rushing through things, trying to fit them in. Plus, I think what is just as important on the course as the material, is the opportunity to connect with other like-minded people on the same path. We had a gorgeous group of people in Goa, and the opportunity to connect and build friendships is even greater over a week than it is when we are just meeting for a day. We had two couples come out of our Goa retreat, and I, for one, made a few new best friends.

So here's the lowdown, and I hope you can join me either in Iceland in April, or in Turkey in May. If you're looking to share raw foods professionally, either as a chef, or educator, or as an adjunct to your existing work as a yoga teacher, naturopath or motivational coach, for example, I can truly think of no better way to steep yourself in the information you need to set you on your path. It's an exciting time for raw foods, but the movement will only gather pace if people are sharing the correct information, and coming from a centred and stable place with the diet. I'm confident that I can point you in the right direction, so you can set sail on the good ship Raw Magic for all the adventures your heart desires, without fear of shipwreck!

Raw Magic in Iceland runs from April 23rd-27th . It’s £320 (61,000 Kr) Special Early Bird Price available until 1st March 2012. From March 1st the price will go up to £350 (67,000 Kr). For two people booking together the price will remain £320 (61,000 Kr) each.

Raw Magic in Turkey is on from May 21st-25th.   The Special Early Bird Price is £275 (800 TL) and it’s available until 1st March 2012. From March 1st the price will go up to £300 (900 TL). For two people booking together the price will remain £275 (800 TL) each.

We can give you the option to pay in instalments. We require £100 non-refundable deposit, and require payment in full before the course starts. There is a £10 admin fee if you choose this option.

Online booking is available at http://www.rawliving.eu/

If you want to put down an initial deposit email melissa@rawliving.co.uk. All other course enquiries, please email inga@41.is for the Icelandic course, and melania.gildesagredo@gmail.com for the Turkish course.

This 25 hour course gives you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in raw cuisine and philosophy, in beautiful surroundings, with wonderful people.

Kate will cover the full spectrum of the Raw Magic lifestyle; we promise that you will finish the course armed with a practical knowledge of how to make magic in the kitchen, along with a transformed awareness of how to empower yourself and implement the magic in your world.

Everyone who completes the course satisfactorily will receive a certificate, an endorsement from Kate and Raw Living which you may use should you wish to start teaching classes or offering catering services yourself. You also get your own beautiful Raw Magic apron, worth £15, and the course booklet.

All participants get 10% off their Raw Living shopping from the time that they book, and for a month after the course. Everyone also receives a free month’s membership to Kate’s Magic Bubble for the month following the course.

Both courses have accommodation on site, with raw meals and yoga classes available. In Iceland, we will be going to Glo for dinner each evening, one of the best raw restaurants in the world, as well as taking trips out to the Blue Lagoon and the Golden Circle. If you choose Turkey, you can enjoy the stunning beaches and soak up some rays in the lush Mediterranean climate.  At the first course we had participants from 10 different countries! So it’s a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and develop your network of raw friends around the world.

    The Course

Topics covered on the course include: holistic detox techniques, superfoods, the most important principles to create the best foundation in the body for optimum cellular health; travelling and how to stay raw when you’re not at home in your own kitchen; children on raw; and what in Kate’s experience is the best raw food diet for the Northern European climate. Kate will share information on all the important elements to include on a raw food diet, from both the nutritional aspect, so as a chef you will be creating dishes with optimum nutrition and maximum digestibility, and equally the flavour aspect, so you will be creating recipes that your friends and family repeatedly tell you are the best things they have ever tasted! We will comprehensively cover all the new and unusual ingredients that comprise the raw store cupboard and how to work them into your recipes. There are ample opportunities to taste both the food and the individual ingredients throughout each day.

Recipes include Green Juice, Sublime Sushi, Onion Bread, Deviation Chocolate, Strawberry Deelite, Hemp Milk, Mystic Mayo, Kale Chips, Crazy Curry, Rum n Raisin Fudge, SuperSmoothie, Broccoli Burgers, Hardcore Salad, Chris’s Muddy Crackers, Gorgeous Goji Pudding, They Call Me Mellow Yellow, Renegade Chia, Siouxsie Soup (with Kelp noodles), Mayan Relish, and last but not least, the legendary Quantum Cake.

    What Previous Course Participants Say

“Thank you Kate for an amazingly Magic week! Thank you for your hard work and energy. Raw Magic in Goa was everything I wanted and much more….because of you I now have 22 new friends!” Sonia, UK

“It was an amazing time…. powerful learning experience being a part of the Raw Magic school. Thank you.” Anna, UK.

“The course was an inspirational, spiritually awakening, refreshing and mind expanding experience that I believe everyone should take part in before they embark on a raw food journey. The most valuable things that I have learned is that it is not a diet, it is a way of life, and that you must include other vital rituals so we can make the most out of our lives as a whole. Kate’s experience, sharing and teaching is an essential part of the raw food revolution. Thank you so much.” Leah, UK
