Description

While we're not able to write about possible benefits of Astaxanthin, once you have researched it and are looking for an excellent quality source, look no further than BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin. Their astaxanthin comes from fresh water microalgae called Haematococcus pluvialis, grown in controlled, fresh water ponds on their farm in Kona, Hawaii.

Sourcing location plays a large role in the quality of astaxanthin, and Hawaii's Kona coast offers optimum growing conditions, thanks to its pristine, nutrient-rich waters, heavenly climate, and 12 months of generous sunlight. This trio of environmental factors enables the astaxanthin that is used in BioAstin to be of the highest quality and potency possible.

The Nutrex Hawaii microalgae farm in Hawaii is considered a BioSecure Zone. This means that it is completely free of harmful pesticides, herbicides, and genetically modified organisms.

Astaxanthin is a red pigment found in a variety of natural organisms. Plants and animals that contain bright red coloring are usually high sources of astaxanthin. Because it is found it nature, it can be consumed through eating such foods that are naturally rich in the antioxidant, like salmon, but even though salmon has the highest concentration of any food, you'd have to eat over a pound each day of most salmon species to get the equivalent amount of Astaxanthin in one 4 mg capsule! Taking it in supplement form is the best way to ensure optimal levels of astaxanthin are consumed.

Astaxanthin is a fat soluble antioxidant, therefore it requires time to build up in one’s system. Results are usually noticed in a period of 2-6 weeks when taken at the recommended dose.

Guaranteed stable astaxanthin content over time.

Natural astaxanthin has no known side effects or contraindications.

Further Information

Nutrex Hawaii was founded in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii in 1990 by Dr. Gerald Cysewski, a world-renowned expert in microalgae and carotenoids.  Our mission is to utilize the benefits of microalgae to improve health and extend lives in the world wide community.   Carved out of land that was once a barren lava flow, Nutrex Hawaii is located on the pristine Kona coast on the Big Island of Hawaii.  Our farm draws on the natural resources that surround us – abundant warm sunlight, pure deep ocean water and 100% fresh water drawn from Hawaiian aquifers.

Nutrex Hawaii’s corporate philosophy is to leave the land and environment in better condition than when we started. All of our microalgae comes from our parent company Cyanotech’s 90-acre farm located on the pristine Kona Coast on Hawaii Island. Our microalgae farm was carved out of land that was once a barren lava flow. Our team is steadfast in its commitment to sustainability and everything we do is to create a cleaner, safer and healthier world.

How To Use

If you are taking an astaxanthin nutritional supplement as a general part of your daily health maintenance regimen, then 4 to 6 mg of BioAstin per day is recommended. However, if you are taking astaxanthin for serious joint or tendon health problems, or if you're an athlete or someone who does a lot of physical work or exercise, then 12 mg per day is generally recommended. It is important to note that since astaxanthin is a fat-soluble carotenoid, it works best when taking it with food, as fat aids in the absorption of the antioxidant.  (Consult your health care practitioner before use if you are pregnant or nursing).

Free of yeast, corn, wheat, gluten, lactose, GMOs, pesticides and herbicides (contains no fish or shellfish bi-products).
